USE AND TREATMENT OF MARBLE

As you know, marble is a natural stone and as such it has no protection from chemical and atmospheric people. The tops used for our tables are all stain-resistant with simple wax and antidrop to avoid that ugly and yellowish plastic protection that takes away the beautiful feeling we have when we touch it. But like all natural treatments, it must pay attention to its use and maintenance. We will briefly explain what are the damaging agents and the treatments to be performed to have a table always in perfect condition

HOW TO CLEAN THE MARBLE

Marbles must never be cleaned with ANY CHEMICAL DETERGENT which, having aggressive properties on the surface of the marble top, removes the protection we give on it (antidrop and wax) and can make it capable of absorbing any liquid and becoming opaque. Marble must be cleaned only with water and alcohol (the pink one). It is also advisable to repeat a protective treatment periodically (according to the use of the table for a maximum of 1 year) with a common marble wax (also available in hardware) to keep it shiny and protected.

PRODUCTS ON WHICH TO PAY MAXIMUM ATTENTION

Wine, sparkling wine, fruit juices, coffee, lemon, orange, vinegar, coke, oil, tomato and others. In practice they are all products containing natural or chemical acids that can corrode the protection in wax and go to stain the marble (some votes also in an unrecoverable way). Therefore we always recommend using under glasses or placemats to ensure that they do not come into contact with the hob. If the aforementioned should come into contact, it is advisable to clean (following the paragraph HOW TO CLEAN THE MARBLE) within a maximum of 5 minutes from pouring the liquid onto the surface and to retract the marble in a short time to prevent it from being in the usual position where you are once the stain has been created, corrosive liquid may be poured again and the marble definitively damaged.
