PRECAUTIONS FOR USING MARBLE

Marble is a natural stone and as such has no inherent protection from chemical and atmospheric agents. The tops used for our tables are all treated with stain-resistant wax and anti-drop treatment to avoid that unsightly plastic coating that takes away the beautiful feel of this product. However, as with all natural treatments, it requires careful use and maintenance. We'll briefly explain the damaging agents and the treatments required to keep your table in perfect condition.

How to Clean Marble

Marble should never be cleaned with ANY CHEMICAL DETERGENTS. These aggressive chemicals remove the protective treatment (anti-drop and wax) it receives during production, and can cause it to absorb any liquid and become dull. Marble should be cleaned only with water and alcohol (pink alcohol). It is also recommended to periodically re-treat the marble (depending on the table's usage, up to once a year) with a standard marble wax (also available at hardware stores) to keep it shiny and protected.

Products to pay attention to

Wine, sparkling wine, fruit juices, coffee, lemon, orange, vinegar, Coca-Cola, oil, tomato, etc. are all products containing natural or chemical acids that can corrode the wax protection and stain the marble (sometimes irreparably). Therefore, we always recommend using coasters or placemats to prevent them from coming into contact with the surface. If any of these liquids are spilled on the marble surface, we recommend cleaning (following the section on HOW TO CLEAN MARBLE) within 5 minutes and re-treating the marble as soon as possible to prevent another corrosive liquid from accidentally spilling in the same spot, potentially damaging it permanently.

How to clean laminate

Laminate is a very scratch-resistant wood, but we recommend cleaning it by soaking a sponge cloth in simple warm water or alcohol (pink)
